COLLECTIVIZATION AND CONSENSUS IN BRAZILIAN RURA AREA BASED ON RURAL ACCOMMODATION ESTABLISHMENT

Abstract

This study addresses three empirical manifestations that are rarely reported in studies: social collectivization, consensus and rural accommodation establishments in Brazil. This topic was the theme of the research problem, as studies on accommodation establishments have rarely investigated spatial conditions as a sign for collectivization and consensus in order to bring solutions to meet social demands. The objective of this research, therefore, was to describe spaces of rural accommodation establishments in Brazil as signs of collectivization and consensus. The object of research was the Pousada Vitória, a rural guest house located in the municipality of Santa Rosa de Lima, in the southern Brazilian state of Santa Catarina (SC). Qualitative and descriptive research was carried out. The research instruments used were a literature review of primary and secondary sources, spatial reading in loco recorded in photographs, and open-ended interviews. All the data collected were described in light of Walter Benjamin’s Montage Theory, supported by the idea of abduction (Charles Sanders Peirce). The results indicate the possibility of collectivization and consensus in rural accommodation spaces which, in turn, indicates spaces for civic actions in the Brazilian rural space.
