ECONOMIC CRIME OF DRUG DEALING: PROFILE, COSTS AND RETURN
Keywords:
Crime economy, drugs, prisonersAbstract
This article aims to present the profile of people involved with drug dealing and the cost-benefit of this crime by a case study in the States of Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil), based on the Becker crime economic theory (1968). For this purpose we applied a questionnaire to a sample of 194 prisoners in six prisons on both States. From the answers (2017) it was possible to identify the personal, socio-economical and criminal profile as well as the cost-benefit ratio performed by the drug dealers. Besides, the results show that the cost-benefit ration of drug dealing provides double economic return.Downloads
