In this sense, approaches the assumptions of chaos theory and the study of open and dynamic systems aiming thinking regional development and cities from a macrostructural perspective. Besides that, approaches other studies seeking to think the university and its role in this development from its inclusion in the system as an actor to be observed, not as an external agent. So on, seeks to also think about the existing nexus between the diverse ideas and conceptual gains that an approach based on chaos theory has to offer for urban and cities studies can give. Therefore, gains such as the interaction between different actors, individuals and/or Institutions becomes a start point of the proposed model – thinking the city and the relationships that are in it and from it built – and analyses based on the network idea to study a network society, as proposed Castells (1996) in his book "The Rise of "Network Society".
