The article aims to explore the reasons of the success of the tourism sector in Tuscany, starting from a hypotheses yet presented in regional development research: the performance of tourism sector in Tuscany, it depends, as in the case of industrial districts, also to the institutional environment and the type of local governance, to the widespread presence of associations. In addition to the relationships between social actors and tourism promotion policies, the article aims to deepen the dynamic and the process by which territory as public space is organized and socially constructed, and how a set of social actors present in the region acts as advocacy coalition of historical, urban and rural heritage.Downloads
