The current agricultural sector is complex and it is essential to adapt to market dynamics. Considering such scenario, understanding the styles of decision-making and the related factors in rural areas also become difficult. The following research aimed to relate the characteristics of the manager, of the property and decision-making styles of farmers in the town of Palmeira das Missões/RS. In order to achieve this goal, a literature review and a field survey have been conducted with 101 farmers throughout the town. The analyses used were descriptive and inferential (associations and correlations). As a result it is evident that there is a relationship between variables, for example, SAU, investment and gross income are associated with agricultural or non-agricultural, or may not have financing sufficient or insufficient structure and properties of the decision style, the latter also related to schooling. In addition, there is a correlation between investment, management time, UTH, and SAU with gross revenues of the properties. It is concluded that the decision-making style may be being affected by the characteristics of the property and the manager, particularly affecting the performance of farms, in the same way such characteristics are associated with each other.Downloads
