Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the trajectory of twelve entrepreneurs within the logistics industry in the city of Jundiaí – SP throughout the process of creating, surviving and developing entrepreneurial businesses. It also sought to discover their characteristics and the difficulties and challenges they face to run their business on a daily basis. To conduct this study we opted for the qualitative method, exploratory in its nature, and to collect data we employed semi-structured interviews. Data have been treated through the content analysis technique and grouped into five categories as follows: business creation, reasons by which entrepreneurs decided to operate in the logistics industry, influences and achievements related to individual entrepreneurs' experiences, business goals and growth strategies, and challenges and difficulties to work in the logistics industry. Findings show problems associated with poor infrastructure, lack of security, high taxes and difficulty to find qualified people. Therefore, there is urgency to review what impacts this industry that is important to the Brazilian economy.
