Abstract

Since the economic and social crises of the late 1980s, the proposal for a solidarity economy has been strengthened, in order to solve both the issues of unemployment, and to serve as a political counterpoint to the market economy. Specifically in Brazil in recent years, there was a significant increase in solidarity enterprises and entities to promote the Solidarity Economy. However, despite this progress, there are several limitations and challenges to be overcome. Realize there are several problems, such as division in work processes, unequal distribution of income among members of cooperatives and associations, training of management personnel, presence of individualistic values among co-op, difficulty in adding members in the processes of decision-decision. Thus, this theoretical paper, besides presenting the main limitations and challenges to the solidarity economy today, aims to lift the proposal for an education within a context of economic solidarity, as a possible alternative to overcome the present limitations and enable the creation of a new social paradigm.
